On Thursday September 26th McBride Annex will join the main school and will take part in the Terry Fox National School Day Run. The Annex students will walk over to the McBride main school with their teachers and the Supervision Aides to join them for their recess break. The run will take place at Kingcrest Park (Knight St. and King Edward) between recess and lunch. We will be walking back to McBride Annex after their lunch break; therefore, all students must bring a bag lunch to school. Parents are welcome to join us for the walk to the main school and the Terry Fox Run. Please see your child’s teacher if you plan to join us. This walk will be on RAIN or SHINE so please have your child dress appropriately for the weather.
The significance of the Terry Fox Run is to help raise money for cancer research as well as to learn from Terry’s example of never giving up, and helping others. To share in Terry’s generosity, spirit, and compassion as well as to provide students with an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many, we ask that you kindly donate a loonie ($1) or toonie ($2). Student helpers will go around to the different classrooms to collect money starting on Wednesday September 25 to Friday September 27.
Thank you for your support!
